Following the appointment of Michel Barnier as Prime Minister, the left-wing groups in the Assembly, united under the banner of the NFP, announced that they would censure this new government.

“The election was stolen from the French,” Jean-Luc Mélenchon denounced on Thursday, September 5, after the announcement of the nomination of Michel Barnier as Prime Minister by Emmanuel Macron. The leader of the Socialists, Olivier Faure, considered that “we are entering a regime crisis.” One by one, the various left-wing parties condemned this decision and announced that they would censure the government of the new Prime Minister.
