Lionel BOVIER, 55 years old this year, historian, has directed the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art (MAMCO) of Geneva since 2016. The old SIP buildings where it is installed have closed on Mamco, from memorylast exhibition before a renovation which will probably last until 2029. Beside, at the Center for Contemporary Art, which also closes, still shine for a few weeks two beautiful farewell exhibitions.

“One of the main motivations for taking a public establishment or private foundation management, a kunsthalle or an association is neither wages nor glory. It is the possibility of making a program that you determine yourself, it is cultural production. ” And that, even outside the walls, Lionel Bavier will continue to do so in the coming years.
