2 mins. reading
“Bristol”, like business card cardboard. Like a game of cards. Like an old-fashioned and intriguing invitation card. By choosing this title for his new novel, Jean Echenoz seems to personally invite his readers to a reception. The party is beautiful, even if it is slightly boring. In the author’s bibliography, rich in around twenty titles (The Greenwich Meridian; Cherokee; I’m leaving; Ravel), this opus seems minor. But, let us be wary, Echenoz often played with false platitudes.
