Will Ryan Gosling move on from the pink universe of Barbie to the darker one of Star Wars? The 44-year-old Canadian actor is expected to play the lead role in the next film in the famous intergalactic saga, the magazine revealed Wednesday evening The Hollywood Reporter.
If the information is confirmed, the next Star Wars will have a strong Canadian flavor since it is the Montreal-born filmmaker Shawn Levy (Deadpool & Wolverine, One night at Musée) who will be at the helm of the feature film.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, negotiations are underway between Ryan Gosling and the Lucasfilm studio, which produces the films (and series) of the cult saga created in 1977 by George Lucas. Shooting of the film could begin as early as next fall. It is not yet known which character the Canadian actor known for his roles in the films would play Barbie et The The land et Blade Runner 2049.
-Shawn Levy has been working with screenwriter Jonathan Tropper for over a year on the next installment of the Star Wars saga. No information has yet filtered out on the plot of the film other than the fact that it will not be linked to the story of the Skywalker family.
In addition to Shawn Levy’s film, Lucasfilm is preparing another feature film centered on the character of Rey (Daisy Ridley) whose story will take place 15 years later Star Wars: l’ascension de Skywalkerreleased in 2019.
