Until February 1, the Fougères media library (Ille-et-Vilaine) dedicates an exhibition to the cartoon, Looting by the Rennes illustrator Renan Coquin. This comic, published in April 2024, is a true docu-fiction on the pillaging of the African seas.
Scripted by Maxime de Lisle, second in command of Sea Shepherd, it is inspired by its missions against illegal fishing.
Atelier BD collective
Thirty-four original boards are installed on the first floor of the media library, in the Passerelle sector. A small group of lucky people will also be able to participate in a atelier BD collective, with Renan Coquin, Wednesday January 29 at 2 p.m. (from 12 years old, by reservation).
-Everyone will create a part of the comic, starting from the story board until the creation of a page. It’s a great way to understand the work of a comic book illustrator.
Renan Coquin will meet the public after the workshop, from 5 p.m. on Wednesday 29. It will be possible to purchase the comic strip Looting on the Imagibulles bookstore stand and have it signed by the illustrator.
Media library, 2, esplanade des Chaussonnières. Reservations for the workshop on 02 23 51 10 90 or on www.mediatheques.fougeres-agglo.bzh
