For several days, posters in the neighborhood carried a message: Remember your galette that in fanfare we celebrate! This Sunday morning, under the sun and the wind, four fanfares brought Castanet to life, in front of the various businesses. Then, it was a picnic at the Neighborhood House where an aperitif and cake were offered by the committee. The brass bands continued their joyous concerts with obvious joy and good humor as they braved the wind! Hijos de Tuba, Lady Jaja, Funky Brandade were already present last year, joined by a new one, the BIB fanfare and its braggarts from Souvignargues wearing a burgundy apron. The latter is defined as “an agricultural band, a counter band that has existed for twenty years”.
This musical event has been repeated for three years in Castanet to the great joy of all, musicians and spectators. What if the neighborhood became this friendly place where braggarts, ever more numerous, would continue to meet every year, at this same time, to share this pleasure of livening up the businesses and eating pancakes to the sound of their catchy music?
