It has become a habit. For the 17th year, the chamber orchestra of New Europe returns to give a concert in Épaignes, in Eure, with 13 musicians. But this year, there is a small variation in the program.
Film music
Sunday January 26, 2025 at 4 p.m., the concert will be given at the party hall of the commune, and not to the church. “This year, conductor Nicolas Krauze offers us to play film scores, we find it great...” announces Françoise Hocquard, president of the Épaignes cultural association which organizes it.
This results in the choice of a place other than the church. “The priest, supported by the bishopric, asks that only sacred music be produced,” explains Françoise Hocquard.
The party room will of course contain “the appropriate sound system and decoration”.
-The ensemble will also play works by Georges Bizet, composer of the opera Carmen. It is therefore an opportunity for a large audience to come and listen to classics of cinema and opera, performed by talented instrumentalists.
Like every year, the singers of the Farandole choirdirected by Yann Lollier, will also take part in the concert.
Sunday January 26 at 4 p.m. at the Épaignes village hall, in the Trèfle area. Price: €24, and €12 for young people aged 12 to 16, free for children under 12. Reservations on 06 86 68 17 95 or 06 75 47 54 27.
