In Fouesnant, the Arts Croisés company will perform “Les femmes de Barbe Bleue” at the Archipelago

The Arts Croisés theater company will present a creation by Lisa Guez, “Les femmes de Barbe Bleue”, on Sunday February 2, 2025, at 5 p.m. at l’Archipel, in Fouesnant. A play freely adapted from Perrault’s tale and directed by Sophie-Emmanuelle Petit.

Created in 2012 by Sophie-Emmanuelle Petit, drama teacher and director, the Arts Croisés company has continued its creative work ever since. The company, open to all, works to make culture accessible to all. A philosophy not devoid of demands. After the piece “One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest” and a rendering of the fight of the ex-workers of Lejaby, “A Seamless Pattern”, Sophie-Emmanuelle Petit immersed herself in the world of Lisa Guez in 2023 and playwright Valentine Krasnochok who took on Perrault’s tale with the theatrical group Juste avant la company.

An echo of the fight against violence against women

From this collective writing was born a cry against violence against women. The first, given to the Nautile of La Forêt-Fouesnant, set the tone for the adventure. The actresses Armelle Rabot, Stéphanie Le Goff, Corinne Gantelet, Mathilde Le Bourgeois and Valérie Gouba have not left the ship. “But the piece evolved over the course of the performances, in , Josselin and even at the Kerhervy Festival, where we received the City Prize. We gained confidence, confidence,” says Corinne Gantelet. The piece is visible from 14 years old: “It can help young people to ask themselves the right questions,” assures the director, who entrusted the creation of the original music to Charles Petit.

Furthermore, Sophie-Emmanuelle Petit and the Cie Arts Croisés are today inviting patrons, sponsors or donors to support them in a new artistic and human adventure. “A fascinating contemporary theater project. Through a fusion of theater, music and dance. We want to give voice to the stories that shake things up.”
