The decision, taken after a fierce competition with Geneva, was announced at the end of August. Both cities had presented convincing arguments, making the choice of the organizing committee particularly difficult.
This victory marks a historic moment for Basel, which was able to stand out and win against its Geneva rival. For Switzerland, which has not hosted the event since 1989, it is an opportunity to shine again on the international stage. Basel promises a memorable spectacle on the scale of this global event.
