Isabelle Coriton exhibits alone for the first time at Grands Larges, in Lorient. Acrylic painting, collage, sand, mandala… what matters most in Isabelle Coriton’s works is color. On Tangkas (literally “thing that is rolled out”), she lets her moods express themselves. “These cotton or linen canvases require a lot of preparation to make the surface smoother and more adherent,” explains the artist. Afterwards I work with a brush or a knife.” A single inspiration guides Isabelle: freedom. “I favor the expression of color on very large surfaces. We also find the mandala (organized circular designs of Hindu origin) in Celtic culture.”
This first exhibition of the year at Grands larges is also the artist’s first solo exhibition.
