It’s a legendary game from French television, it will be back on our screens this summer: “Intervilles”. Good news, the town of Wallers-Arenberg has just announced that it will participate in the 2025 edition. It is she who will have the difficult task of defending the colors of the North.

“Shaaa- laaaa- lala-lala!”, we all remember the famous theme song of the cult show which thrilled generations of viewers in front of the small screen. The popular refrain will soon resonate again in the North and will revive many memories next summer in Wallers-Arenberg.

The small town of 5,000 inhabitants will welcome the new version ofIntervillesthe flagship show created by Guy Lux 63 years ago, with his accomplices Léon Zitrone and Simone Garnier presenting.

Just as popular, this black and white sequence which shows two candidates in arm wrestling, whose indiscipline exasperates one of the star hosts, under the mocking gaze of a hilarious Guy Lux.

Wallers-Arenberg’s participation was announced during the mayor’s greeting ceremony. And even if at the town hall we cannot (want to?) say more, the residents are already delighted.

“This is great news! It soothes the heart.” rejoices a Wallersian, “It’s nice for the town, after the Paris-Roubaix, then the Tour de France two years ago, it’s a sporting city, it’s great!“

At the hairdresser, like almost everywhere in the sector, Intervilles evokes good memories, all generations combined.

“Myself at one time, I participated in a small Intervilles game in the town of Tith-Saint Léger with the flagship game: cows.”, a customer with graying hair tells us. As for the question “Which event would you like to take part in”, her young hairdresser responds with a burst of laughter: “ I don’t know, but not too sporty, eh?!“

The owner of the salon remembers: “Already last year, there was an Intervilles, but with neighboring municipalities. Unfortunately, we didn’t win.“

In the summer of 2023, in fact, Wallers-Arenberg offered himself a small rehearsal. Following in the footsteps of its great neighbor, St Amand les Eaux, three times finalist and winner ofIntervilles in 2013.

The 2025 edition will be broadcast next summer on France Télévisions. With Nagui, Bruno Guillon and Camille Cerf at the presentation.
