The Sandero, Dacia’s star car and sales champion in Europe in 2024, will go electric! This is the announcement made Thursday by Denis Le Vot, general director of the brand.

While the small city car, priced from 13,000 euros in gasoline version, continues to appeal to motorists, Dacia is already preparing for the future. At the end of 2027, a 100% electric Sandero will join the Spring, the brand’s first “zero emissions” model.

To maintain tight prices, Dacia has chosen not to revolutionize its production. The future electric Sandero will share the same platform as the current model, assembled in Romania and Morocco. “Year after year, there will be more and more 100% electric models coming over the next decade,” Denis Le Vot told Reuters.

The technical decisions concerning this new Sandero will be finalized at the end of 2025. Dacia, a subsidiary of the Renault group, intends to remain competitive in the face of the offensive by Chinese manufacturers on the electric market.
