It’s called Couronneries and this new local news channel is produced by and for the residents of the district of the same name, northeast of . CTV (pronounced sitivi) produces one program per month published on social networks and it aims to give a positive image of the neighborhood, often mentioned for news items.

Couronneries TV was created in October 2024. This voluntary project was born from a collaboration between the Neighborhood Animation Center and the Poitou Habitat Jeune residence with an editorial line : a TV made by and for the residents of the neighborhood.

Dragan François is a volunteer at Couronneries TV : “The questions are prepared in advance depending on the theme we have chosen. We interview residents about the changes taking place in Couronneries. It is a media created by the residents of the neighborhood for the neighborhood. A TV like ours also allows us to combat certain stereotypes. »

And the residents are happy with this initiative which allows them to talk about their daily lives and gives a better image of this popular neighborhood. : « It changes because it’s TV that comes to us, we have a lot to learn and say too,” confides Christian Loukou, a resident of the neighborhood.

Christine Bourgeois is a host and she is the one presenting the television news that day. She has a lot of hope in this new media : « I hope that this channel will enlighten consciences, that it will reveal talents, that it will make people ask questions about other media and that it will develop critical thinking. We must think about what we say, but also what we hear, we must not believe everything and check our sources,” says Christine Bourgeois, host and TV presenter of the day.

CTV (pronounced sitivi) is financially supported by the Educational City. The production of the programs is certainly artisanal, but each volunteer makes their talents available to bring this new media to life. Gilles Guillaume is a cinema animator at the Couronneries Animation Center : “It empowers them, it helps them gain self-confidence because these young people are not at all used to being in front of the camera. It shows them how we shoot, edit… »
