A new exhibition entitled “Canvas and Paper” took place on the first floor of the media library and was inaugurated on Friday January 10. The two artists in the spotlight live in Fonsorbes. They are Pascale and Pierre Henne.
Pascale is a native of the Pau region and is a graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts of Quebec.
The artist presents his painting works, mainly in oil, where the human being appears as a central element. She likes to represent bodies in movement, faces. And she simply explains her choice to paint people with “I like people”. His creations are executed directly on various media. She does not go through the drawing stage and is not inspired by photographs.
Her husband, Pierre, was born in Lorraine but spent part of his childhood in Japan where he discovered origami, the art of folding paper. Later, during his adolescence, he would have to stay in Africa, in Burkina Faso. From then on, he took up the cause of animal protection and in particular that of elephants, which he took to the highest levels of the State. Today, this young retiree devotes himself to origami, naturally developing his artistic creations on the animal theme which he stages around the famous Fables of La Fontaine with disconcerting realism and precision.
-Furthermore, the artist offers a little game to children visiting the media library. He hid an origami salamander in the shelves of the youth sector. The children who find it win one of its folds. Accessible for the duration of the “Canvas and Paper” exhibition, namely until Saturday February 22, 2025.
For her part, Pascale Henne, who will host a clown course next Saturday and Sunday, announces that there are still places left.
