An ambitious and new musical program in this emblematic cultural place of Brioude

In 2025, the Brioude reading café has chosen to take a step forward. Accustomed to hosting concerts, the small associative structure chose to move on to the next stage, as Anaëlle Boucher, responsible for coordination, explains: “La Clef has always hosted concerts. Before, all the people who wanted to play “For two years, with the programming commission, we had started to make a selection, while trying to meet local expectations.

“There, we decided to go for something more professional, by welcoming more recognized artists. To be identified as a place to listen to quality .”

An approach which required preparation in advance, in particular by requesting financial aid to be able to pay the artists. The structure now has subsidies from the National Music Center and the Auvergne Rhône-Alpes Regional Council. And to this, the reading café adds a symbolic but necessary entry fee of €5. “We calculated that with this price, by filling the room with around fifty people, we would have enough to finance the season.”

Ticketing and prices. It is possible to buy your ticket for the various concerts online, via the helloasso website and the page of the La Plume de ma tante association. Basic prices are €5, €2.50 for 6 to 11 year olds and free for under 6 year olds. Furthermore, anyone who wishes to further support La Clef and its musical season can contribute beyond €5.

To develop this program which promises to be rich in great discoveries and has nothing to envy of what certain small contemporary music venues in Clermont offer, La Clef has used some of its recipes: “We turned towards people who contacted us, whether artists, tour operators or labels. And we got closer to local structures, like Green Piste records or Coop’. place for women in the programming and to offer varied styles “.

Varied styles and space for women

Among the names mentioned during the season, some will recognize in particular that of Alexandre Delano, leader of the Delano orchestra, a group which had worked with Jean-Louis Murat on his album Babel. This Saturday, for the launch of these evenings, which will complement its usual programming (shows, screenings, parent-child workshops, etc.), La Clef wanted to play the proximity card with a duo signed on the Paulhaguétois label Green Piste records: An Eagle in Your Mind. A curiosity to listen to, because it will be the last date of the tour…

Notice now to curious music lovers: La Clef has revealed all its concert dates for the year, it’s up to you not to miss them…
