The actor, suffering from dementia, went out in public for the first time since his diagnosis, to meet police officers mobilized to respond to the devastating fires in Los Angeles.
Bruce Willis meets police officers responding to the Los Angeles fires. In a video posted to Instagram by his wife, Emma Heming Willis, the actor suffering from dementia appears alongside officers and shakes their hands to thank them for their work.
“Spotting a first responder, Bruce never missed an opportunity to show his gratitude with a heartfelt handshake and a ‘thank you for your service’. Yesterday was no different,” wrote Emma Heming Willis.
According to the American media Peoplethis is Bruce Willis’ first public outing since announcing his illness in 2023.
Withdrawal from public life
Bruce Willis married Emma Heming for the second time in 2009. They had two daughters, born in 2012 and 2014. The actor Sixth sense had previously been married to actress Demi Moorefrom 1987 to the year 2000, with whom he had three daughters.
It was Demi Moore who announced the end of Bruce Willis’ career in 2022. At the time, the actor was diagnosed with aphasia – a language disorder caused by brain damage. This diagnosis was not clarified until the following year, when frontotemporal dementia was announced.
Since then, the actor has retired from the world of cinema but those close to him continue to regularly provide news of him via social networks.
