MyFrenchFestival 2025 with 5MONDEplus

MyFrenchFilmFestival, the iconic 100% online French-speaking film festival, is back for its 15th edition from January 17 to February 17, 2025. A unique opportunity for film buffs from around the world to discover the best of French-speaking cinema from home thanks to 5MONDEplus as in 2024. UNIFRANCE, the French cinema promotion agency, and organizer of this festival presents us with 18 films, unseen in many countries. 9 of them will be available free of charge in Africa, Latin America, the Maghreb, the Middle East and the Caribbean, subtitled in French, English, Spanish and Arabic thanks to TV5MONDEplus. You are the jury! But not only

MyFrenchFestival is a special sequence in the dense cinematographic universe. Indeed, it is the only French-speaking event that allows you to join the big names in Cinema who constitute a jury. Indeed, the festival invites spectators to participate in the celebration by voting for their favorite films. A feature film and a short film will receive the audience prizes. To participate, simply register on the MyFrenchFilmFestival.com website before February 17 and vote for the films that moved or inspired you.

At the same time, other juries are formed, the international one and the press one. And this year, the MyFrenchFilmFestival is, moreover, proud to welcome a prestigious international jury responsible for awarding the Grand Prix for best feature film. This coveted prize is worth 15,000 euros, to be shared equally between the director, producer and distributor of the winning film.

The 2025 international jury is made up of world-renowned creators, including:

  • Zar Amir, renowned Franco-Iranian actor, producer and director;
  • Viggo Mortensen, a Danish-American actor and filmmaker, has been celebrated for his diverse roles and directorial works;
  • Noémie Merlant, award-winning French actress and director, known for her outstanding contributions to contemporary cinema;
  • Tarik Saleh, Swedish writer, director and producer whose works have received international recognition;
  • Andrey Zvyagintsev, the Russian writer and director whose films have become landmarks of world cinema.

There is therefore also a second international jury, this time from the press. The latter will also play a key role in selecting a leading feature film in the competition. The jury is made up of prominent journalists from leading media outlets around the world:

  • Elisabeth Vincentelli (The New York Times, USA);
  • Yuko Tanaka (Kinema Junpo, Japon)
  • Boyd van Hoeij (Screen International, R.-U.);
  • Marco Consoli (freelance, Italy)
  • Gonzalo Lira (El Heraldo TV, Mexique).

The expertise and global perspective of this jury guarantee that the chosen film will have resonance well beyond the French-speaking world.

And new for 2025, as a sign of recognition of the growing influence of digital platforms, a jury dedicated to content creators will reward a short film in competition. These passionate cinema influencers are:

  • Shruti Nagesh (@thecinemastories);
  • Alejandro Chávez (@jorandro_, in Spanish);
  • Jovan Vasiljević (@cinematologist, en anglais).

Their unique perspectives promise to bring a fresh and dynamic perspective to the short film competition.

Which films are presented in 2025?

In 2025, the selection is made up of 18 French films and supplemented by two Belgian films (in partnership with Wallonie-Bruxelles Images).

The official selection, which will be revealed tomorrow, January 17, 2025, will present 20 films, including

10 feature films

– 9 films in competition, offering a rich and varied panorama of contemporary cinema

– 1 classic film

Accessible on around fifty partner platforms, the festival offers a varied selection, available in the original French version and subtitled in eight different languages ​​(German, English, Arabic, Spanish, Italian, Japanese, Mandarin and Portuguese). Prices on the MyFrenchFestival website are €1.99 for a feature film or €7.99 for the festival pack. Some films will be geo-blocked in certain territories due to ongoing sales or negotiations. The short films are free worldwide.

This year, all the films in the selection will be offered in French original version and with subtitles available in 8 languages: German, English, Arabic, Italian, Spanish, Japanese, Mandarin and Portuguese. No excuse for your spouse or roommate to refuse to watch a French film.
