An exceptional retrospective at Eden Gallery

Eden Gallery in Casablanca is hosting, from Thursday January 16, 2025, a major exhibition dedicated to Monia Touiss, an emblematic figure of contemporary Moroccan art. Entitled “Traversées, 30 years of creation”, this retrospective retraces three decades of artistic career through around thirty captivating works, created between 2004 and 2024.

After the success of her exhibition “L’espace d’un instant…” in 2022, Monia Touiss returns with a renewed and profound artistic universe. Through terrestrial, abyssal or sidereal landscapes, and dreamlike figures, the artist invites us on a journey to the heart of his imagination. His creations, imbued with light and transparency, reflect an inner quest where memory, nature and technique subtly intertwine.

Born in Tetouan in 1971, Monia Touiss graduated from the National School of Fine Arts, where she received the Mariano Bertuchi Prize in 1992. She continued her studies in Spain, obtaining a doctorate in visual arts at the University of Barcelona. Living between Rabat and Barcelona, she has exhibited her works across the world, from to Cordoba, via Stuttgart and Marrakech.

The Crossings exhibition celebrates a rich and eclectic career, oscillating between abstraction and figuration. Each painting is an invitation to reflection, an exploration of memories and emotions, where the viewer is free to interpret and let themselves be carried away by the artist’s unique aesthetic.

The opening will take place on Thursday January 16, 2025, from 6 p.m., at Eden Art Gallery. This event is open to the public and constitutes a unique opportunity to discover or rediscover the exceptional journey of an artist who continues to inspire and transcend the boundaries of art.
