As we learned last December, Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League will soon die, but a final update is available before the title falls into oblivion for good. Unfortunately, if you were hoping for a grand finale for the game, you may be a little disappointed.
Latest content update is available
Episode 8 of Season 4 is now available for all players. Baptized balancethis final episode allows you to explore the medieval universe of Elseworld a little more, with new places to explore and “elements that will seem familiar to you”.
Your quest will take you to the Quarry, a fortified citadel that you must besiege to defeat the tyrant Brainiac. Additionally, the Arena provides an ideal venue for jousting tournaments or interdimensional battles. The statues of King Jor-El and Queen Lara Lor-Van add a touch of admiration for this era marked by chivalry and honor.
Players can also enjoy a new Infamy set, inspired by Libra, and also a weapon set, inspired by The Silencer.
As a reminder, this is the very last content update for the game, which means that its support is ending.
If Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice recently welcomed an offline mode, the game's servers remain open for the moment and you can therefore continue to enjoy the title and all its features, both solo and in cooperation. More details on the game's end of life are available in this FAQ.
“Let’s be honest, it was a bit rubbish”
Spoiler alert: If you have not yet played the game and want to keep the storyline a surprise, we advise you to avoid reading the rest of this article, as it directly deals with the events of the main story.
With the arrival of this latest content update, Rocksteady also offers the final battle against Brainiac, and therefore the conclusion of the game's post-launch story with a rather funny plot twist.
Indeed, while the main adventure asks us to kill most of the heroes of the Justice League, the death of Batman, a character dear to players, did not go down very well with fans because of the treatment reserved by Rocksteady for his favorite character.
In order to obviously limit the damage and leave the door open to all possibilities concerning the universe in which the game is set, we finally discover that the main heroes fought during the main adventure were clones and are not dead. Batman, Superman, Flash and even Green Lantern are therefore alive and it is with a few storyboards and a voice-over from Harley Quinn that the news is announced to the players.
This conclusion obviously provokes a strong reaction from the community, particularly on Reddit with this topic with hundreds of responses questioning this ending and the very interest of the game.
It's unclear what awaits Rocksteady after the failure of Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League and recent layoffs within the studio. What is certain, however, is that the teams will have a lot to do to win back the hearts of players, and particularly fans of the Batman Arkham series.
If you want to play Suicide Squad Kill The Justice League, remember that the game is available on Xbox Series X|S, PS5 and PC and sold at a reduced price at most merchants. It is also one of the games offered as part of the PS+ subscription, which should repopulate its servers one last time before a long agony.
