The Tunisian short film “Loading”, directed by Anis Lassoued, won the jury prize during the 14th edition of the Luxor African Cinema Festival, which was held in Egypt from January 9 to 14, 2025.
Organized in the historic city of Luxor, Egypt, the new edition of the African Cinema Festival brought together 65 films from 35 African countries. On this occasion, the jury prize was awarded to “Loading” by Anis Lassoued.
Tunisia was represented by two works in the official competition: the feature film Asfour Jenna by Mourad Ben Cheikh and the short film Loading (2024), written and directed by Anis Lassoued, with Salah Mseddi and Mohamed Ali Nahdi in the cast.
The festival also paid tribute to Tunisian actor Ahmed Hafiene while honoring the memory of journalist and film critic Khemais Khayati, who died on June 18, 2024.
