Caricatures of Roselyne Bachelot or Angela Merkel, fashion sketches, iconic outfits, portraits… No less than 250 objects that belonged to Karl Lagerfeld will be offered at an auction. From January 21 to 31, 2025, the latest assets from the German fashion designer’s estate will be put online by Sotheby’s in Paris.

Outfits, iPod nano, furniture…

The lots presented for this fifth and final sale organized by the auction house are varied. Potential buyers will be able to raise prices for iPod nanos from 2009, for example, porcelain plates or even a cushion stamped “Here, it’s Choupette’s place”. Also, a piece of furniture designed by the designer Hedi Slimane or even outfits were imagined. “Karl patiently composed his style according to strict and immutable rules. The word ‘always’ could punctuate the Kaiser’s morning routine. Always a Dior jacket, always a pair of mittens… always,” notes Sotheby’s.

“The auction features an exceptional collection of caricatures that capture the playful and Voltairean side of Lagerfeldcomplete with a meticulous recreation of her iconic outfits, offering an intimate insight into her personal style,” adds the auction house.

In February 2019, Karl Lagerfeld’s 260 m² apartment was offered at an auction for 5.3 million euros. Most recently, his office arrived on the real estate market last November.
