Nine years after the death of her husband René Angélil, Céline Dion pays tribute to him. Alongside her three sons, she shared an emotional message.

Nine years ago, on January 14, 2016, René Angélil died from cancer. His wife, singer Céline Dion, never missed an opportunity to pay tribute to him. This year, she was able to count on the support of her three sons René-Charles (23 years old) and the twins Nelson and Eddy (14 years old) to get through this difficult period.

This Wednesday, January 15, on her Instagram account, the singer published a very sensitive message in memory of her late beloved: “René, we cannot believe that you left nine years ago. Not a day goes by without feeling your presence, RC, Eddy, Nelson and me. You were my greatest champion, my partner, and the one who always saw the best in me. I honor you and I miss you forever my love… We love you. »

Céline and René, love and work

Before becoming her husband, René Angélil served as an agent for the Quebec diva. It all started in 1981 when the impresario came across the demo tape of the title “It Was Only a Dream”, a song written by Céline’s mother and brother and performed by the latter. Without waiting, he wanted to take care of the young woman’s career.

After several years of collaboration, feelings were born between the two artists. In 1994, they were married at the Notre Dame Basilica in Montreal and then enjoyed 22 years of love together, giving birth to three sons. Since René’s death, his family has continued to revive his memory and tell people about the manager, husband and father he was.
