American President-elect Donald Trump will participate in WEF 2025 via videoconference on Thursday January 23, forum president Borge Brende announced Tuesday during a press conference. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky will come in person to Davos.

Donald Trump, who will take office at the head of the White House next Monday, will therefore participate for the third time in the World Economic Forum (WEF). He visited the Graubünden resort in 2018 and 2020, during his first term.

“We have heard that the new American administration wants to leave its mark on Davos,” said Borge Brende, who welcomed Donald Trump’s intervention at the WEF, which will start next Monday. Other key figures in the new government are expected, but none have yet been confirmed, with the future American secretariat still having to be clarified when the Republican takes office, said Mr. Brende.

Another forum headliner

We also do not know more about a possible intervention by Elon Musk, close to Trump who will head a new ministry for government efficiency.

Another headliner of the forum, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky will attend the Davos forum in person for the second year in a row. It will take place on Tuesday January 21, said Mr. Brende.

The President of the Confederation, Karin Keller-Sutter, announced last week that a meeting was being organized with her Ukrainian counterpart.
