Since December, Guy Maradan and Augustin Leclère have taken over the reins of Chalet du Soldat, at the foot of the Gastlosen. With the aim of preserving the tradition of the place, while working with fresh and local products.

BELLEGARDE. Sunday, 10:45 a.m. The sun finally deigns to shine above the Col du Loup. On the Bellegarde side, the gusts of wind swirl the snowflakes that fell the day before on the foothills of the Gastlosen. It’s as cold as in a Vincent Munier film.

Luckily, the gentle warmth of the wood stove welcomes visitors to the Chalet du Soldat with kindness. On the next table, a family is playing cards, after having spent the night at altitude. Behind the counter, Guy Maradan and Augustin Leclère take care of the final preparations before…
