The Brest branch of the Habitat and Humanism association of Finistère invited its 28 beneficiaries and their children for the annual snack at the start of the year, Saturday January 11, 2025. Around ten volunteers and representatives of the partners also responded to the invitation.
“We manage 40 accommodations in the city of Ponant to meet the specific needs of each person while promoting their autonomy: administrative (employment, French lessons, care, etc.) and DIY. Two volunteers support each family for a maximum period of two years of accommodation,” explain Jean-Claude Le Mignon, resources manager, and Valérie Abgrall, support manager.
160 volunteers in Finistère
Leisure activities are also offered to tenants such as cultural activities (cinema, Océanopolis, theater, shows at the Brest Arena, museums, etc.) and sporting activities (football, etc.). Across the department, 160 volunteers are involved, including around thirty in Brest. They can count on five employees: a coordinator and four social workers. Supportive owners are currently being sought.
