Rapper Koba LaD sentenced to 15 months in prison for acts of violence and kidnapping against his former manager

While his girlfriend Wejdene was questioned this Monday January 13 regarding the car accident which cost the life of William Dogbey, the rapper Koba LaD has just been sentenced to 15 months in prison for another matter.

He was tried for having participated in acts of violence and kidnapping against his manager, Deuspi. The story dates from April 2022, where Koba LaD finally understood that Deuspi, his mentor and producer, was stealing part of his money. “My guy, you screwed up, we're going to do something crazy to you” one of the kidnappers reportedly announced as they took the producer to a warehouse in Corbeil-Essonnes. After being beaten, the man is taken home, where his partner and his little brother also live. She testified a few months later: “I discovered that his face was swollen.” Koba LaD would then have told Sarah, Deuspi's partner, that he would have “stolen money” from her, demanding the sums of “60,000 then 80,000 and finally 200,000 euros”, report our colleagues from Parisian.

The producer received numerous stabbings at his home before the attackers left, leaving him for dead on the ground.

15 months in prison instead of 12 months

Last November, Koba LaD and three of his relatives appeared before the Melun court (Seine-et-Marne). A year in prison was requested against the rapper, but ultimately 15 months in prison were given to him this Monday for violence with total incapacity for work (ITT) of more than 8 days. The other co-defendants were acquitted.

During this previous hearing where Sarah, the manager's partner, testified, he appeared confident and very smiling, far from suspecting the sentence he would receive a few months later.

As a reminder, Koba LaD had already been sentenced last September after a brawl in a Parisian nightclub in 2022, he was also placed in pre-trial detention following the accident on September 10 which cost the life of one of his friends.
