The 82nd edition of the Golden Globes presented its prize list on the night of January 5 to 6, 2025. Films, series… Who emerged as the big winner?
The Golden Globes, equivalent to the American Oscars which distinguishes comedies from dramas while also rewarding television series, gave their last prizes on the night of January 5 to 6, 2025. This is the French film Emilia Perez who is one of the big winners. After winning two awards at the Cannes Film Festival, Jacques Audiard’s Spanish-language musical was crowned with four awards: Best comedy or musical film, Best foreign language film, Best supporting actress for Zoe Saldaña and Best song .
Un other film stood out during this 2025 edition: The Brutalistwhich the French public will discover in theaters on February 12. This fresco directed by Brady Corbet won three major awards, namely the Golden Globe for Best Drama Film, Best Actor for Adrien Brody, and Best Direction.
In terms of interpretations, Demi Moore saw her performance inhabited in The Substance hailed, just like Fernanda Torres (I’m still here), Sebastian Stan (A different man) or Kieran Culkin (A Real Pain).
And what about the series? Unsurprisingly after his Emmy coronation a few months earlier, it was Shogun which won all the major awards in the drama categories. Also accustomed to receiving awards, the series Hacks shone in the comedy category. The ceremony is available in streaming replay in France on the MyCanal platform.

For the moment, the date of the next Golden Globes ceremony is not known. Traditionally, the ceremony takes place at the beginning of the year, from the first weekend in January. It is therefore a safe bet that we will have to wait until January 2026 before seeing the ceremony, which foreshadows the race for the Oscars in Hollywood.
