The Aveyron painter and sketchbook artist will be in the spotlight at the Porto-Nomad festival organized in this West African country from January 16 to 19.

A Ruthenian artist is exporting internationally! At least, the painter and sketchbook artist Sonia Privat will be one of the headliners of the Porto-Nomad festival, organized in the capital of Benin, Porto-Novo, from January 16 to 19. An event which is in its fourth edition and presents itself as “the meeting place for responsible travel”.

With an objective presented by the organizer Babel voyages, a company based in - and “sustainable tourism specialist”, highlight the heritage of this West African country and increase its tourist appeal. All this, while respecting an approach “eco-responsible”.

A travel lover

Guided tours, round tables, shows and exhibitions will guide these four days of festivities. It is for this last point that Sonia Privat is part of this adventure. A specialist in travel diaries, it was only natural that the work of the artist based in her studio on rue Sainte-Catherine in was selected to represent the values ​​of this project.

A true nomad, she is passionate about travel and goes from country to country to transcribe in painting her encounters and experiences at the ends of the world. In Benin, she will exhibit two travel diaries dedicated to Senegal and Tanzania. Two countries that she knows like the back of her hand since she has devoted three works to the country of Teranga and two to the land so famous for its safaris. So, Sonia Privat simply says “very happy” to take part in this adventure, a new step in his long journey!
