For more than 40 years, bargain hunters and second-hand dealers have been meeting at Puces de la Cité in , in the Cathedral district. Habits have changed since this Sunday, January 12, 2025 since out of the 130 exhibitors, 80 are now installed in the Jardins de l’Évêché due to the work on Boulevard de la Corderie.

I think it’s much bigger than beforesays this bargain hunter, I’m a little lost in the end because there’s no direction, we go a little everywhere, but I have the impression that the place is as friendly as before“.

For Denis, a second-hand dealer from Creuse, “the site is magnificent, in gardens like that, it is really very beautiful. Afterwards, I am a little skeptical about the fact that all the flow of visitors will come to the gardens, but hey, you have to be patient, so that people get used to it“.

It’s the new year, renewal, with a new placephilosopher Mallo, another exponent. It’s calmer, the setting will be nice for people, there’s a little more space. It’s only the beginning, we’ll have to see at the end of the day, maybe, but for now, everything is fine, the weather is nice“.

For this couple who comes to the flea market every month, the new place gives “the impression that it is an open-air museum. We had our own habits, so at the beginning, we were a little lost, but it also takes us along, it’s bigger, we rediscover the site“.

We hope that it can last more than two years, but we cannot say that today. It must already go well, everyone is satisfied, customers get into their habits, and then we’ll see.

Organizer of the Puces de la Cité in Limoges

Two thirds of the exhibitors are relocated, those who were on Boulevard de la Corderie and Boulevard de la Citéexplains Murielle Blain, organizer of the Cité flea markets. It was a wish for us: when we see the decor, we would have liked to have been there a long time ago. We hope that it can last more than two years, but we cannot say that today. Things have to go well, everyone is satisfied, customers get into their habits, and then we’ll see.“.

This new location is due to extensive work in the district, carried out by Limoges Métropole which announces “a closure to traffic of Boulevard de la Corderie from Monday January 13, 2025 in the morning“. Access to local residents is maintained.

A diversion and signage will be put in place:

  • via rue Gabriel Péri and rue des Petites Maisons – Uphill direction
  • via rue des Petites Maisons and avenue Georges Dumas – Downhill direction.
