For several years, the Prix du Forez has constituted an almost obligatory passage for high-value geldings. By succeeding the Nelumbo, Anzi des Liards, Viking Blue, Cleangame, Elie de Beaufour or Gaspar de Brion, Ino you Lupin obviously does not make a mark on the list. He broke a small gap in the temple of trotting, where he had not crossed the post in the lead since April 19, 2024.
This was by no means a formality, as the small platoon was very well composed. Antoine Wiels, who had to take out “the paw” on several occasions (there has been no official investigation opened into the appearance ofIno you Lupinbut the commissioners broadcast a flash investigation after the display of “red at the finish”), returned to the way in which he built his success: “At the bottom of the descent, I didn’t try to follow the acceleration, because that’s where he made a mistake in the GNT Final. As I hadn’t made any effort until then, I attacked at the top of the climb, especially since my horse prefers to roll from afar. In the last turn, he made a few mistakes and I held on. He responded until the end. I didn’t even unblock his ears.”
Two ultimate winter goals
We will now have to wait until the end of the meeting to review Ino you Lupin at work on the ashes. “According to what Jean-Paul (Marmion) has planned, he should be at the start of the Prix du Plateau de Gravelle, on 1is March. Previously, he has a commitment to Cagnes on January 29 (editor’s note, in the Grand Prix of… Vincennes), where he will have twenty-five meters to surrender, detailed Antoine Wiels. Then, he will continue with a spring program. He excels on the right and could compete against the “Ducs de Normandie” in Caen, for example.”
Related to Hannibal Tuilerie, who had time to grab the first place, Paul Ploquin had fun: “Everything went very well for us. Face Time took us far enough. Given my horse’s finish, I believed it would win when we found the opening. We narrowly fail, but Ino you Lupin don’t bend like that…”
Christian Bigeon was satisfied with the behavior of his two residents, Hip Hop Faufor (3e) et Haufor Gull (5e) : “Hip Hop short great. He lost time in the last turn, as he often does, then got back on track. I committed him to the Cornulier, but have made no decision regarding his next commitment. As for Gullhe defended himself very well after going in front. It was his farewell to France, since I sold him to a Scandinavian owner. He will leave for Finland this Sunday morning. I will keep the memory of a very good horse, very pleasant on a daily basis.”.
Gendréen (4e) would have been competitive for the podium if he had been able to express himself earlier, while Face Time (7e) was forced to ride with his nose to the wind but did well for his first “real race” since his return. As for Mathieu Varin’s new resident, the unlucky one Espace Winner (faulted mid-stretch while looking for the opening), he proved that he had good leftovers at 11 years old.
