Christophe Ausello is one of those surprising, intriguing characters. By day, this adopted Mentonnais is a plumber. But when you dig into your bag, you find, among your work tools… markers!
Indeed, once his day is over, Christophe Ausello lets his colorful imagination run wild on white canvases. “Apparently these are characters that I draw“, replies the artist-plumber when we question him in the middle of creation. “I say apparently, because sometimes they’re not characters. It’s my imagination that takes over!“
Using black lines drawn with a felt-tip pen, this fifty-year-old transforms white canvases into original works in which the colors multiply.
Everything is improvised, everything! I’m in total improvisation because I don’t even know what I’m drawing, I discover it later!

“That’s why I think I’m not alone in myself!“, laughs the artist.
After drawing his shapes, Christophe Ausello creates the colors, in small touches, with his acrylic markers. His creations can be seen in all directions.
Christophe did not study Fine Arts. He is a painter by passion.“I started drawing at 7 years old, but I hid it“, he says.
Today, there is no need to hide anymore. With his works, Christophe Ausello even won the public prize at the Monaco Artists’ Open. And a few weeks ago, he opened a gallery with his son in the heart of Menton, in 40 ruepartoneaux.
