“It’s a big season that awaits us. We pulled out all the stops,” smiles Evelyne Grillon, president of the Royal. The kingpins of the Tavanne cultural center lifted the veil this Friday on the program for the first half of 2025. From January 25 to June 14, thirteen meetings will be offered, with renowned artists.
“For two years, we have noticed that the fall season is calmer, people travel less easily to come to the shows. So we said to ourselves that we were going to put a little more emphasis on the first part of the show. year”, notes Simon Bertholet, member of the programming team.
Alain Roche, Joya Marleen and others
To get to the heart of the matter, let’s point out one of the Royal team’s favorites: the Gardi Hutter show, scheduled for February 15. If she agrees that this name will perhaps not speak much to younger people, Evelyne Grillon assures that it is an “artistic genius”. Certainly the most famous clown in the country, the Swiss-German artist, living in Ticino and aged 71, has traveled the whole world. Awarded numerous times, she notably performed for the Knie circus and performed as part of the celebration of 700 years of Confederation. With his show The snowblowershe will evoke, with humor and poetry, the small and big worries of everyday life. “This is his farewell tour, so we have to take advantage of it,” slips Evelyne Grillon.
Another notable moment: Alain Roche’s performance on April 13. A not entirely ordinary pianist, the musician of Ajoulot origin is particularly known for playing vertically, suspended with his piano in the air (at the Olympic Games among others). At the Royal, he will remain on the ground, but will offer a concert that is nonetheless unusual. The artist invites the public for a very early recital, bathed in the first light of day, at 5:49 a.m. A service which is intended to be the culmination of a deep immersion in the cycle of the seasons.
The Royal’s menu will still be varied, including dance, singing and theater. Without being exhaustive, let’s note the musical comedy show by the artist Forma, the concert by Joya Marleen or that, for children aged 3 and over, by Gaëtan. The complete program is available on www.leroyal.ch.
