Negotiations had been underway for several months, and it is now a done deal: the emblematic Les Déferlantes festival, which electrifies the nights of the Pyrénées-Orientales every early summer, has joined the fold of the La Dépêche group. By purchasing the production company Fadas Event, the media group also takes over the Bacchus festivals in Argelès-sur-Mer, Live au Campo in and Pellicu-live in Thuir. “The festivals continue to be supported by the Frontera Production association, which is chaired by the artist Cali,” indicates Fabrice Lorente, who remains general director of Fadas Event with the relevant staff. David Garcia, founder of Les Déferlantes, will continue to be the artistic director of the festivals.

This merger, made official this Tuesday, January 7, 2025, “responds to a desire to rely on a partner with a solid financial base, while preserving the regional identity that is dear to us,” explains Fabrice Lorente, reaffirming the territorial anchoring of these festivals face now global competition. In 2024, the budget of the Les Déferlantes festival was almost 11 million euros. The sale of Fadas Event should make it possible “to mobilize additional resources, particularly in terms of communication and marketing,” he adds.

The 2025 edition of Déferlantes brought forward to the end of June

While discussions for this sale were going well, preparation for the 2025 edition of Les Déferlantes was launched. It will take place at Barcarès from June 26 to 29. Dates brought forward compared to the usual calendar, but which allow Les Déferlantes not to be positioned on the same dates as other major festivals which will take place in the first half of July, observes Fabrice Lorente. “Apart from Solidays in , there will be no other major festival on these dates! “, he rejoices. The first ticket sales are encouraging in the eyes of the organizers, who observe “performances superior to those recorded during the same period during the two previous editions”.

As for the programming, we assure that there will be “something for all tastes and styles”, with successively French touch, rock/Latino, pop and urban/electro atmospheres. Among the headliners announced, the arrival of Will Smith, the same evening as Camila Cabello on June 28, was particularly commented on. “But the evenings of Cypress Hill combined with J Balvin, Madness and Jean-Louis Aubert on Friday June 27, or in a completely different musical style, on Sunday with DJ Snake, B Brejcha, B2B D Vegas and Timmy Trumpet or even Big Flo and Oli are not left out! », insists Fabrice Lorente.
