Two Gers artists invite themselves into Le Couloir du Temps, at the Manufacture générale horlogère (MGH), avenue de la gare: the photographer Pierre Culot, who captures Gers nature and urban landscapes with poetry, and Laurent Baglin, who sculpts totems inspired by Native American and Maori cultures. The opening of the exhibition will take place Monday January 13, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Pierre Culot favors urban subjects, rich in colors and details. He captures vibrant scenes in cities like , , Collioure, Saint-Malo, transforming everyday life into paintings that stimulate the imagination.

Three years ago, drone photography enriched his career. He rediscovered the Gers landscapes traced by man, which became, in his lens, true abstract works of art. His images, minimally retouched, are printed on canvas to give them the depth and texture of a painting. Between heaven and earth, Pierre Culot presents these two complementary series.

Laurent Baglin has been a totem sculptor for over forty years. He draws his inspiration from Native American culture, the Maori traditions of New Zealand and the Marquesas Islands. These mythological universes, rich in stories, accompany him in each creation. Each totem represents a deity, an ancestor or a protective spirit. These sculptures tell stories, convey messages and stand as bridges between the visible and invisible worlds, between the living and the dead.

Laurent Baglin uses oak logs that he collects from the woods and state forests of Armagnac. Even dead, wood continues to work, to move. Each piece has its story and it is from these singularities that he begins his work.
