2024 rankings: between confirmed successes and revelations, discover the best-selling albums in and the major trends shaping the musical landscape.


The podium of the 3 best album sales of the year 2024 is entirely occupied by French artists: Werenoi, who is on top for the second consecutive year, PLK and Indochine, thus confirming the vitality and excellence of the French scene.

With 18 of the 20 best album sales in 2024, the public once again this year favors the projects of artists produced in France – and singing in French – all generations and all musical styles combined, with a special mention for rap which dominates the top of the list. this ranking.

Deciphering these remarkable performances through the 200 best sellers of 2024:

  • 18 albums in the Top 20 are French productions.
  • 145 French productions are present in the 200 best sellers of 2024, and account for 77% of listenings in this ranking.
  • 138 billion streamed streams in 2024, an increase of 17 billion (+14%) compared to 2023.
  • + 14 million physical albums sold.
  • Emerging French-speaking artists also perform : 18 first albums produced in France join the annual Top 200 albums including “Every second” by Pierre Garnier which goes straight to 5th place and “La Symphonie des éclairs” by Zaho de Sagazan at 6th position.
  • 32 artists placed 2 or more albums in the annual ranking: Jul alone included 8 projects like last year!
  • The performances of female artists in the Top 200 Albums record a notable progression compared to 2023: four French artists now appear among the top 20 places, compared to just one the previous year. An encouraging development, but which needs to be strengthened.

Out of the entire Top 200, 41 projects are female, or a little more than one album in 5. Billie Eilish performs in 4th place ahead of Zaho de Sagazan and Taylor Swift respectively in 6th and 9th place.

To particularly welcome: the success of Zaho’s first albums by Sagazan, Santa, Sabrina Carpenter, Mentissa and Tyla.

Women are also leading the way, occupying the top positions in the vinyl, jazz and radio charts.

At the top of the Top 200, the artists Rap, Hip Hop et R&Bproduced in France, continue to occupy the top of the bill, establishing this scene as one of the most dynamic in the world.

In the Top 20 alone, they represent 12 projects: Werenoi (with 2 albums), PLK at number 2th Top place then followed by SDM, JUL (with 3 projects), Gazo x Tiakola, Dadju & Tayc, SCH, Tiakola and Bouss.

The albums of Variety and French Songis progressing this year with 5 projects classified in the Top 20 Albums, compared to 3 in 2023. This dynamic benefits two emerging artists: Pierre Garnier and Santa.

In the very recent Top Rock & Metal5 French projects stand out by ranking in the Top 10: Indochine wins by occupying 1st place as well as 6th place with its live album.

The group also dominates the Top physique by taking 1st position followed by Zaho de Sagazan in 2nd place. Logically, Indochina also shines in the Top 200, rising to 3rd position.

As for the Top vinylBillie Eilish stands out by reaching 1st place.

Finally, French productions also stand out in the ranking of best sales for Classical and Jazz repertoires : Sofiane Pamart, at the top of the classical top, with his 3 projects and Ibrahim Maalouf, with 3 projects in the Jazz ranking including his new album in the Top 10, particularly distinguished themselves during the year 2024.

In 2024, female artists shine by occupying half of the Top 10 radio rankings: Sabrina Carpenter and Dua Lipa vying for the top spot by a few listeners, while Joseph Kamel at 5th place and Pierre Garnier at 10th Instead, two new talents from television programs stand out.
