Télévisions renews, for the sixth consecutive year, its partnership with the Angoulême International Comic Strip Festival in order to award the Fauve d’Angoulême – Audience Award. Eight albums were pre-selected. The name of the winner will be revealed on Saturday, February 1.

Friday December 27, 2024. After hours and hours of often solitary reading, escape, surprises, discoveries, adventures, reflections, but also laughter, ten journalists and literature specialists from France Télévisions gathered to choose, from the official selection of the Angoulême International Comic Strip Festival, the eight titles which will compete this year for the Fauve d’Angoulême – Public Prize France Televisions 2025.

The discussions led by Augustin Trapenard, under the watchful eye of Katia Martin Gilis, Prize Manager, were particularly sustained this year. Most of the works presented undeniable qualities and met the jury’s demanding criteria.

This selection jury is chaired by Augustin Trapenard (La Grande Librairie, France 5) and composed of Camille Diao, (C this evening – France 5), Francis Forget (France Info culture), Eric Guillaud (France 3 ), Isabel Hirsch (France 3 Poitou-Charentes), Anne-Marie Revol (Franceinfo canal 27), Adrien Rohard (Telematin – France 2), Noemie Roussel (Digital editorial manager Culture Department, Culture Prime – France Télévisions) and Raphal Yem (France Télévisions), Michel Field, (France Télévisions)

The eight titles which have just been chosen from the official Festival selection will be offered for reading to a public jury made up of nine passionate comic book readers, chosen by cover letter from among hundreds of applications.

This year it is composed of : Mathilda Balaguer (33270 Floirac), Sylvain Cousin (86280 Saint-Benoît), Julien Da Silva (23500 Felletin), Angélique Dreillard (86000 ), Dominique Gasquet (79300 Noirterre), Louis Lacour (16400 La Couronne), Noelle Larivière (87420 Saint-Victurnien), Stéphane Raynaud (19600 Saint-Pantaléon-de-Larche) and Virginie Rose (16000 Angoulême).

This jury of readers will meet on Saturday February 1, behind the scenes of the Festival, to deliberate, vote and elect the winner of the 6th Fauve d’Angoulême Audience Prize – France Télévisions which will be awarded during the festival’s awards ceremony the same evening.

In 2024, the Prize was awarded to the Spanish author Beatriz Lema for the comic strip Evils to say published by the editions Blowgun. We then met her to get her reaction. An interview can be found here.

The public prize will also contribute to making the project visible in Spain, because the Angoulême Festival is a reference throughout the world
