End clap for the 17th Contemporary Art Biennale, with 285,000 visitors present this year, the event broke records.

The 17th edition of the contemporary art biennial was a great success. With 285,000 visitors present at the various exhibition venues, the event will have attracted nearly 10,000 more people than last year.

Installed from September 21 to January 5, in several strategic sites in the city of Lyon and its surroundings, this 17th edition will have marked the world of art. Titled “Crossing the water” the biennial invited 78 international artists to present their works in different emblematic places. Among the key sites, the Grandes Locos de la Mulatière, the MAC Lyon, the Cité Internationale de la Gastronomie, the IAC and the Bullukian foundation.

2.7 million curious people

In addition to exhibition venues, the biennial has taken over public space, offering free exhibitions in places such as metro station B at Part-Dieu train station. These sites, accessible to all, will have provided access to the event to 2.7 million people. Record figures, witness to the international influence of the event.
