For its 25th anniversary, the organizers of the Agenais International Song Competition are preparing a magnificent edition!
The 85 artists, amateurs or professionals selected from the 200 candidates, will compete in 6 categories on March 8 and 9 at the François-Mitterrand cultural space in Boé: category from 8 to 12 years old, from 13 to 18 years old, from 19 at 50 years old, singer-songwriter category, adult senior performers and duo category.
“The selections have been closed since September and believe us, this 25th edition will be a landmark! The level of the artists is very, very high!” specify Viviane and Patrick Avril. If Patrick is today the president of the association organizing the competition, it was as a pair that the couple created this event and have continued to develop it for a quarter of a century. During the event, many volunteers contribute to the success of this unique event both through its influence and its dynamism.
An exceptional vintage, exceptional jury
This year the jury will also be an exceptional jury: Grégory Deck, singer and actor will be its president: you have undoubtedly seen him in Bernadette de Lourdes, or Roméo et Juliette or Dracula. At his side Cynthia Bak, soprano, Sylvain Marthouret director of the Agen CRDA Conservatory, Stéphanie Dumouch vocal coach, Gabriel Sarrou, pianist and musical director. Bruno Berbérès, director of Casting The Voice will be present and looking for The Voice talents of tomorrow. On Saturday, he will have a buzzer to help 3 to 4 “favorite” candidates reach the final but will not participate in the jury’s deliberations.
Lenny Crassat, the 12-year-old Montayralais semi-finalist of The Voice Kids and April, finalist of The Voice Kids are invited to the final which will take place on Sunday. Aurélien Vivos is also expected. Other surprises are in preparation but it is impossible to know more. For the moment it’s defense secret!
And the public in all this?
What sets the Agen Boé CICA apart from other competitions? It is to be a show open to the public and designed as a cultural highlight. We discover talents, the voices of tomorrow, because it should be remembered that Stéphane Rizon, Caroline Costa, Chimène Badi, to name but a few, took part in this competition.
