First baby of the year, the little girl weighing 2.458 kg and 47 cm is the delight of her young and new parents, Loïc and Eva-Lou, returned from Australia to live this other life in Narbonne.
Valentina came into the world on Wednesday January 1 at 5:08 p.m.. The first Narbonnaise born in 2025, we found her the next day in her mother’s arms. With her fist clenched, as if she already knew that the life that awaits her will not always be rosy, she benefits from dual French-Australian nationality thanks to her father. “It’s already a baby happiness. She slept all night, and so did we”rejoices, perhaps too quickly, Eva-Lou. Loïc, for his part, discovers his paternal instinct since he checked several times during the night if his daughter was breathing well…
For this first child weighing 2.458 kg and 47 cm, both knew that they would spend New Year’s Eve at the Narbonne hospital center: “The deadline was the 31st. I had already said not to count us to celebrate the new year”announces the mother without regret. “She was desired. She took 24 hours to decide, but she arrived. I’m not too bad off compared to other women.” Indeed, nearby, a parturient has already been waiting for “delivery” for 36 hours.
The Narbonne couple say that Valentina was conceived in Melbourne. Loïc, 34, who worked in Australia and lived there for twelve years, was joined by Eva-Lou, some time after their meeting in the Aude sub-prefecture. At 5 months pregnant, they both decided to return to Narbonne “to be closer to family. It was easier for us and it’s important to be there”. What is certain is that Valentina will go to see the lands where she was created as soon as possible.
Just before the young lady, Tuesday December 31, it was a little Gabriel who closed the ball of births in 2024: a pretty baby weighing 2,470 kg.
