Espace Jéliote leaps into 2025 with three shows

LEspace Jéliote begins its 2nd part of the season this January. First event to start the new year, a carnival mask creation workshop, which will take place in Jéliote on Saturday January 11 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The Kilika company and the visual artist Natacha Sansoz offer to come together as a family to create masks, from various materials (sheep’s wool, reused textiles, etc.), and will guide the participants step by step.

The workshop is open to everyone aged 6 and over. It will be free but you must register, either by email via the address [email protected], or at 05 59 39 98 68.

The first show of the year will take place Tuesday January 14 at 8:30 p.m. at Jéliote. This is the “1ère Mondiale” dance show (1 hour 15 minutes, from 9 years old), from the ÈS collective. The piece is made up of three solos for which the ÈS drew their inspiration from their parents’ records or pop culture. From John Travolta to Maurice Béjart via “Despacito”, these materials and personal objects paint a puzzle portrait of this collective. By exploring identity, ÈS question their relationship to dance and creation, but also the passage of time.

Theater, differently

Tuesday January 28, at 8:30 p.m. in Jéliote, we can see the play by Fanny de Chaillé, “Another history of theater” (1 hour, from 13 years old). What is theater for you? From this simple question addressed to the performers of the show as well as to the audience, the director offers us a unique experience.

With distance and humor, four young performers give us their own history of dramatic art. It will involve exploring the springs of illusion, replaying mythical scenes taken from films or famous stories, engaging in fake fights, exchanging fake kisses…

A cuddly toy in the cosmos

Let’s also mention a lovely object theater piece for toddlers, “Let’s walk through the boxes” (25 min, from 8 months to 3 years) by the Nanoua company, which will take place Saturday January 18, La Chapelle room at 10:30 a.m. But let us point out straight away that the show is sold out. It is possible to register on the waiting list (05 59 39 98 68 or [email protected]) or to hope that places become available the same day: go to the ticket office at 9:45 a.m. to try his luck.

“Let’s walk through the boxes”, these are two short stories inspired by children’s albums that Fanny Bérard revisits by deploying her boxes and her little theater of objects: the first is a questioning around the relationship to the body and the second is a quest that invites us to go in search of a lost cuddly toy in the galaxy!

Tonight’s fireworks show is canceled

The pyrotechnics show scheduled for this Friday, January 3 evening must be canceled due to the bad weather forecast. It will be postponed to a date not yet decided. The other activities are maintained: this Friday, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. in the public garden, young people from 12 years old will meet for bubble football and 8-11 year olds will be able to play archery touch, a mix between archery archery and paintball. Please note that the roller track and rides remain open until January 4 inclusive.
