the essential
Certainly, the New Year’s celebrations are not very long ago, but there will still be night owls motivated to dance to techno on the weekend of January 3, 4 and 5 in Toulouse. Here is our selection of evenings.

First live performance of Marcel DK at the Bikini
Figure of the Toulouse techno scene, Marcel DK presents his live show for the first time this Friday at the Bikini. “Turbine” will be a show with a club spirit, developed in collaboration with the company Audisia Consulting. The latter has already worked on the sound for Mylène Farmer’s tours. For Marcel DK, she notably designed a lighting design inspired by the first raves. Complete with cutting-edge technology, the show is expected to live up to the artist’s progressive techno music, which pushes BPMs all the way to hard techno.

Betty Pop’s Mocha Spectrum Inaugural
Betty Pop’s, the new establishment on Place du Ravelin, opens its doors at Place du Bistrologue. Both a bar and a “pizza club”, it will offer an eclectic musical program from Thursday to Saturday. For its opening night, Saturday, it welcomes Mokka Spectrum, a German-American DJ who will play minimal techno, tinged with ethnic downtempo and UK garage. A great discovery in perspective.

Daïf plays Cri de la Mouette
Le Cri de la Mouette changes ownership but not identity. Captain Erich Sperling has passed the baton to a combo of associates, including several from Rex, who will continue the usual techno evenings on the club barge. Saturday, Wax Boat invites Rennes DJ Daïf and his Luminaere project. In 2024, Antonin Hifda made two remarkable tours in South America, stopping in Rio de Janeiro, Montevideo, Buenos Aires and San Salvador. A special guest to kick off the new year on the boat moored on the Brienne Canal.
