Saint-Léon. Martial Lizards: more than 60 taekwondo and sonmudo practitioners

The last sonmudo course offered by the Saint-Léonnais Lézards Martiaux Club and led by Evelyne, 3rd dan seonmudo teacher, brought together no less than 20 participants, the ideal number for a successful session. On the program: breathing, yoga/tai chi, Qi-gong, meditation… and finally, tea to share.

Évelyne is the leader of the Sonmudo section of the Martial Lizard Club. Seonmudo, a Korean Zen martial art, combines tai chi, Qi-gong, yoga, meditation and muscle strengthening. It is adaptable to everyone (teenagers, adults) and helps maintain well-being and balance. The section brings together 22 members and offers them two classes, Tuesday and Thursday (more Zen), from 8 p.m. to 9 p.m.

The other discipline taught at the Club is Taekwondo, a traditional martial art of defense for all. 24 children and 16 teenagers and adults are registered for this activity. The latter meet their trainers, Loïc or Pascal, on Monday from 7:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. (graduates) and Wednesday from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. (+ 30 minutes for graduates). 7-14 year olds also have two slots: Monday from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. and Wednesday from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. A session for the youngest (5-6 year olds) is also offered on Wednesday, from 5 p.m. hours to 5:45 p.m.

The next dates to note are Sunday February 2 for grade changes, in co-organization with the Escalquens Club (the two Clubs work together).

Then a big event on May 31 and June 1 at the CREPS in : the AMTC International Festival (Traditional Korean Martial Arts), a unique gathering in the region, which we will talk about again.
