From the beginning of December until the end of January, casino regulars and culture enthusiasts can discover the exhibition, showcasing the work of Philippe Magnard. This self-taught painter was born on October 6, 1952 in Vallon-en-Sully (03). He created his first painting at the age of 14. For four years he worked as a copyist. His first personal exhibition took place in 1977. In 1985, he was represented by his first gallery, Vert Vert, in Vichy, then by the Kiras gallery in Paris between 1991 and 1994. In 1999, he co-founded Spac with five other artists. He also participates in the Floralies sales at Versailles and is the subject of press articles, notably in Arts & Valeurs. Philippe Magnard exhibited in the Gers, notably in Auch, Condom and Fourcès. His work can therefore be discovered in the very bright room on the first floor, which can also be accessed with an elevator. It is also an opportunity for Castéra and the surrounding area, holidaymakers for example, to be able to benefit from this cultural approach. Since the beginning of the year, this is the tenth exhibition that the casino’s cultural department has offered. If to this we add theatrical performances and concerts, the Castère cultural offering is a consequence. It is also important to add the associative offer which is being reinforced in the creation of new projects with the return of Ideal 32, financed by the casino by being included in its specifications. An extraordinary opportunity for local life which is strengthened thanks to this financial aid securing activities. In Castéra, the inhabitants are therefore lucky to have this cultural approach accessible to all, giving significant added value to the dynamics of the municipality.
