Many parents were surprised by a board game aimed at children aged seven and over, which sparked controversy after Christmas. This family quiz, published by Topi Games and promoted by YouTuber Michou, widely followed by young people, included questions considered inappropriate by some parents.
Several parents met in a toy store reacted. Among the questions we find: “Have you ever had an animal in heat who wanted to make love to you?”, “Have you ever been caught in the act of satisfying a solitary pleasure?” or “Have you ever used narcotics?”
Some people expressed their incomprehension about this content: “There are some that I haven't read because I think it's not appropriate for their age.” Others added: “It talks a lot about sexuality or subjects that can be sensitive for young children. This rating is almost scandalous. In any case, 7 years and older, I don't understand it at all.”
Leading questions
Several considered these questions “a little tendentious” for 7 year old children: “Some questions are a little tendentious in my opinion. For 7 year olds, I think it's a little too much.”
Following the controversy, Michou initially attributed responsibility to the publisherr. The YouTuber, who had widely promoted the game through different formats, including live demonstrations on Twitch, expressed his regrets.
Lpublisher Topi Games reacted publicly and apologized this Saturday, December 28. Specializing in taking over popular licenses like Dragon Ball Z, Rabbids et Lord of the RingsTopi Games offers quick games, both for children and adults, including question-and-answer games.
“The box will therefore be withdrawn from sale and a refund will be made to customers,” Michou said on X (formerly Twitter) on Saturday evening.
