Regulars of the events supported by the Friends of Poche have had the opportunity in recent months to meet Camille and Maël, during the preparation, the production of the shows proposed or the chores which follow these events. These days they are completing their civic service contract, an opportunity to ask them to share their feelings following this experience.
For them, civic service is “a possibility for young people between 16 and 25 years old to have semi-professional experience in an association, a possibility open today to public services, for 6 to 12 months”. A few months ago, Camille failed an exam to be a dance teacher, Maël remained on the waiting list to join a BTS in sound professions. Both did not want to deviate from their professional objective: to teach dance and create dance shows for one; mastering sound management and creating music around rap for each other.
The opportunity to discover the entertainment professions
The opportunity for this civic service was offered to them, with associations that revolve around entertainment, while waiting to return to the paths that had been temporarily forbidden to them. They seized this chance, which allowed them to discover many facets of the entertainment industry. Beyond the technical part of the production of shows, sound, light, they touched on the preparation part, reservations and ticketing, the organization of the room and the stage indoors or outdoors, the support of artists, catering and refreshments…
“A good professional experience to understand the behind the scenes in all its aspects in a warm associative environment,” they believe. At the same time, both continued to train and deepen their artistic projects. Maël should release an EP with his sounds in January and hopes to have his BTS. Camille is waiting for the results of the exam she took again. We wish them good luck for the rest of their projects.
