This year, it’s not a Japanese manga artist who dominates the bestseller rankings Weekly Books/GFK but the French YouTuber Inoxtagwhose work Instinct Vol 1 published by Michel Lafon on November 21, has already sold more than 320,000 copies and exceeds, in terms of sales, the last volume of One Piece of Eiichiro Oda (Glénat). The best-selling manga series in history is, however, not to be outdone with nine books in the ranking. The two works are followed by volume 12 of Spy X Family of Tatsuya Endotranslated by Satoko Fujimoto (Kurokawa) which is found in third position.

On the comics side, the series Mortelle Adele of Mr Tan (Mr Tan&Co) invades the ranking with no less than eleven books present, including volume 21, the latest, which has sold around 300,000 copies since its release on May 23. In second place, Riad Sattouf with the graphic novel derived from its cult series, The Arab of the Future, Me Fadi the stolen brother 1986-1994 (Books of the Future), which currently has more than 252,000 copies sold. Best-selling comic book of the year 2023, Asterix : L’Iris Blanc (Albert Rene), written by Fabcaro and illustrated by Didier Conradmaintains its place in the ranking at tenth position.
