the essential
Between tunes by Edith Piaf and Frank Sinatra, the young musicians shone during their end-of-year concert.
If there are concerts not to be missed, it is those of the local Philharmonic Society. A few days ago, “la Philhar” held its “Christmas Cabaret” in a covered market set up for the occasion.
And it was a magnificent evening offered to the many Lavelanetians who were lucky enough to attend. It was the students of the René-Allabert municipal music school who opened the ball, led by Maryse Chacon, who also teaches the flute. This presented his fellow teachers “who through their investment train the young musicians of this school which is the breeding ground of the philharmonic society”. Alain Bednarczik teaches clarinets, Pierre Louge Soulé brass, Eliot Fretwel guitar, and Pierre Pacheco percussion. It is with great mastery and rigor that the students performed seven varied pieces: surely proof of the quality of the teaching provided to them throughout the year.
After a short intermission, “the big guys” attacked their repertoire, led by the dynamic Cyril Galy. The tone was set from the first notes and the audience was immediately won over. “Let yourself be carried away by the music and enjoy” Maryse Chacon had advised a few minutes before. The advice was followed and the public immediately transported. The first pieces paid homage to Édith Piaf, then followed by other admirably performed music. Although he is a clarinet teacher, Alain Bednarczik has also shown his virtuosity on the accordion. Also very appreciated is the voice of Stéphanie Naudi, on several songs including “Cabaret” and “New York, New York”, among others.
In the end, it was an ovation that the public, in turn, offered to all these musicians who promote music in our territory and who carry the colors of the country of Olmes high during their travels. A big thank you to them who, each time we listen to them, bring us moments of pleasure and happiness.
