Taylor Swift has generously donated a huge sum of money to an organization that helps underprivileged children.
The 35-year-old star made history this year when her world tour Eras World Tour has grossed more than $2 billion and she just made a major donation to a Kansas City organization.
On Monday, December 23, a message on the Internet confirmed that the star, who became a billionaire thanks to her music, also knew how to be very generous. It was revealed that the pop singer donated $250,000 to the non-profit Operation Breakthrough, which works to provide education and a safe environment for children living in poverty in Kansas.
The information does not come from Taylor Swift or her entourage, but from the association itself, which shared a video clip on social networks showing children holding up signs they had decorated to thank the artist.
A caption accompanying the Instagram post read: “Thank you, @taylorswift, for making our holiday season shine even brighter! Your kindness and thoughtful donation of $250,000 means a lot to our children and families.”
It is not by chance that Taylor Swift chose this association in Kansas. Indeed, her boyfriend, Travis Kelce, NFL player, originally from Westlake, Ohio, and who has played for the Kansas City Chiefs since 2013, also supports Operation Breakthrough. He has been an advocate and financial supporter of the organization for ten years.
Mary Esselman, CEO of the company, told USA Today: “He came for Read Across America day. He read to preschool classes…and he kept coming back.”
Last week, Taylor Swift was with sick children in a hospital.
