Kate Middleton is getting back in shape, gradually recovering from her cancer. Last Thursday, she unveiled her Christmas greeting card, alongside Prince William and their three children. We also don't forget his superb appearance at the beginning of December at the traditional Christmas concert in Sandringham. But she is not the only one to be so invested during these end-of-year holidays. She was notably able to count on Sophie, the Duchess of Edinburgh, who spared no effort and participated in several engagements over the past few weeks. And this while the Princess of Wales was slowly returning to her duties.
In November, the Duchess showed her supportive side by warmly putting her arm around a Yazidi survivor at a photography exhibition. This event, organized by Farida Global, supported survivors of genocides and victims of conflict and religious persecution. Then, earlier this month, she wore a glamorous dress to attend Qatar's state banquet at Buckingham Palace with other members of the royal family. And a few days later, she joined the festivities during a visit to the Bagshot Women's Institute. She made a Christmas decoration there while chatting with the women present.
Sophie from Wessex very involved for Christmas
She also took part in Christmas activities with the charity Disability Initiative, of which she has been patron since 2003. She made Christmas pies, painted a festive landscape and sang Christmas carols with the beneficiaries. “Yesterday she even found time to visit The Lighthouse charity in Woking.”specifies Daily Mail, in an article dated December 19. She then helped serve meals while actively engaging with volunteers.
With her constant dedication and warm presence, Sophie of Wessex has not only lightened Princess Kate's load, but therefore also strengthened her role within the royal family this festive season.
