As revealed this Saturday evening by the site Province Courses, Maple Jeroboam suffers from a knee sprain. If the first examinations at the Grosbois clinic had revealed nothing last Monday, the son of Prodigious underwent a more in-depth check-up, once back in the stronghold of the Thomain family, which finally detected the injury. David Thomain confirmed the information this Sunday with Michel Burgio and Christophe Meyer: “We were in doubt after a first battery of examinations at the start of the week, the scintigraphy having shown nothing. It was ultimately an MRI that revealed this sprain. At a slow trot he is very flexible, but as soon as he accelerates it doesn't work… He will walk for 8/10 days and then we will see if he can be seen again this winter. Whatever happens, the damage is done.” If nothing is done, the presence of Maple Jeroboam at the start of the Prix de Cornulier (Gr. I) next month is compromised this Sunday. For his part, Michaël Izzo gave us news of Jezabelle Bie who won his ticket for the big meeting on January 19 by winning the Prix Bilibili (Gr. I) last Sunday: “Everything is fine ! I went down to Cagnes-sur-Mer for a few days and the mare is entrusted to the good care of Michel Lenoir and the whole team. She will pass a check-up at the start of the week and we are still discussing the jockey who could ride her in the Cornulier. A final decision will be made at the start of the week, but there is nothing stopping her from taking part in the big meeting if everything goes in the right direction. A group I cannot be refused!”
